Hopman Cup, Perth

I spent some time yesterday watching Caroline Wozniacki practicing. The physical preparation she goes through before she even picks up a racket is significant and then the hitting session she had seemed to be based around repetition and developing muscle memory. It was interesting to see the world number 1 looking interested and committed to a routine she probably does 364 days a year.

1st January 2012 - Perth

Went on a shoot with Li Na in Perth this morning. She was given a kangaroo to play with and she had a load of fun. The kangaroo was more of a poser than she was!

Sydney Ferry

Interesting to play with the lens baby tilt & shift lens. I took a trip over to Manly and got a bit carried away with playing around with the effects. I am going to try and use it a bit more for portraits in 2012 and see what interesting stuff I can do with it!

Subway Train

I tried an experiment using my Leica X1 in September this year. I was on the subway on my way to working at the US Open tennis and remembered some awesome graffiti as the subway comes out of the tunnel. I took this shot through the subway window as it sped towards Queens.

New York

Here's a couple of sunset pics from New York I quite like.

First Post

So, I have been shooting with Canon now all my photo life and have finally splashed out on a Leica M9 system to start developing a new era of my art. I am the full time snapper and joint owner of the best tennis magazine, website, iPad and ezine in the galaxy, tennishead. Check out www.amnimages.photohselter.com to see the thousands of tennis photos from the last few years.
The Leica is a real change as it requires time and thought and it seems to demand more commitment than the 1d Canon range. So I am very excited about the next few months and the voyage of discovery I am about to embark on.

I am going to shoot some stuff around Sydney over the next week or so, before heading to West Australia for a few days of discovery and then a week shooting the Hopman Cup tennis and then the Australian Open. I will keep writing about the experiences with the red dot and anything else that seems interesting!
